How should dredgers be properly maintained during their downtime in winter?

Currently, with the freezing weather, most dredgers are idle. This raises the question: how should we handle dredgers when they are not in use? This is a very important issue, because proper handling during downtime is crucial to ensuring the quality of the dredger and making maintenance much easier.

First, it's important to clean the dredger thoroughly. Although dredgers have a discharge function, some residual silt and dirt will remain. This debris must be cleaned promptly and not allowed to remain in the equipment for extended periods, as this can lead to material contamination and, over time, damage. Therefore, proper cleaning during downtime is essential to maintaining the dredger's quality.

Secondly, during the dredger's downtime, it's crucial to protect certain components from rust. Taking these precautions effectively prevents corrosion (meaning decay, disintegration, or erosion) from occurring in the air, thus preserving the overall quality of the equipment. Therefore, attention must be paid to this aspect during handling. By addressing these points, storing the dredger during downtime will not pose any problems.
