Dredging machinery refers to excavation equipment that uses buckets or mud pumps to excavate underwater sand and soil. It is primarily used in engineering fields such as river dredging and cleaning, waterway construction, marine development, and dam construction and reinforcement. Core equipment includes engineering vessels such as dredgers, rock breakers, tugboats, and mud barges, as well as mud conveying equipment. Dredgers can be classified into cutter suction, trailing suction, and grab types according to their operating methods, and are equipped with core components such as cutter heads and mud pumps for excavation and transportation. Modern dredging machinery employs intelligent control systems, possessing functions such as automatic navigation and 3D terrain reconstruction, and implements environmental protection measures during operation to reduce secondary pollution.

Dredging machinery technology is continuously upgrading, with representative domestic equipment including a 90-meter-long, 1250 m³/h suction dredger. The application of clean energy and intelligent technology is a developing trend. Typical engineering cases include the maintenance of the Yangtze River estuary waterway and the dredging of the Grand Faw Port in Iraq, with a maximum single-ship discharge distance reaching 15 kilometers.
